Coming to the Black Sheep Vineyard on Saturday, July 31, 2010, 7:00-9:00pm:
Sisters from Scio, Sadie and Abi Hoyt, began as classically trained solo musicians. In 2005, they joined forces to create a fiddle and folk harp duo that blended their classical training with the Celtic music tradition. Since 2005, they have performed at banquet dinners, weddings, festivals, and other events throughout the tri-state area. In 2007, they made their first recording, “Embroidered Dance Shoes,” an album that has reached listeners across America. Their repertoire features airs and dances from King Arthur’s court and Jane Austen ballrooms, tunes from Irish pubs and fields, popular hits from Broadway, and their own original compositions. Sadie is currently a junior at Hillsdale College, pursuing a degree in history and classical piano, and Abi, a senior in high school, plans to pursue a degree in classical voice.
