Take a culinary journey through the countryside of Spain with us at our first Winter Doldrums Dinner on Saturday, January 9, 2010, beginning at 6:30pm. Certified Chef Garret Kaldor has planned a wonderful meal with each of the four courses uniquely paired with a one of our own Black Sheep Vineyard wines.
This dinner will be in an intimate setting, with seating by prepaid reservation only. Only 30 tickets will be sold. The cost is $45 per person.
Tapas: Cracked marinated green olives, roasted asparagus with Serrano ham, and mozzarella with sun dried tomato. Wine: Ohio Riesling
Ensalada de Cassiopeia: Chef’s own take on Spanish Salad. Wine: Wild Mustang White
Entree: Spanish seasoned loin of pork accompanied with golden potatoes in tomatillo sauce and green beans with roasted garlic and peppers. Wine: Ohio Traminette
Dessert: Spanish flan with mint leaf. Wine: Bonnie
We are planning a second Winter Doldrums Dinner for January 23rd, which will pair more gourmet cuisine with our other four wines. Tickets for this event will go on sale after Jan. 9; the people attending the first dinner on Jan. 9 will have the first chance to make reservations for the Jan. 23rd dinner. We will start taking reservations from anyone else beginning on Jan. 10!
