Two local artists, Kathie Wentz and Sherry Becker-Gorby, will feature their unique hand-made items in our tasting room.
Kathleen Wentz is a mixed media artist living in Columbiana, Ohio. She has been teaching and facilitating workshops in jewelry and paper arts since 1985. Her work has been published nationally in magazines including Somerset Studio, Haute Handbags, Gallery, Legacy, Stampers Sampler and others. Kathleen’s experience as a teacher, poet and storyteller brings an influence to the images and designs of her artwork, which includes jewelry, matted prints, photographs, and original greeting cards.
Sherry Becker-Gorby creates hand-crafted functional and decorative hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery. She often uses images from nature as the source of inspiration for her craft decorating pottery with leaves, flowers, or animal images. Her work also includes raku, sagar, and primitive firing techniques. Recently her work has focused on horsehair raku, where each piece of pottery is uniquely etched with a carbon imprint and shades of autumn.
